“Water makes me feel peaceful. I love its movement,” says fabric designer Lori Weitzner discussing her new collection for Bergamo. Weitzner’s “Coastline” is a beige silk-and-wool weave, whose puckering effect produces slightly raised and striated lines that evoke the imprint of waves on sand.

A favorite of yacht interior designers, Weitzner is a beige enthusiast. Beige, she says, offers flexibility without distracting from what is dear – art, collectibles or accessories. Beige sheers on windows are especially wonderful at filtering natural light and warming the cold tones that often come from tinted glass.
