A Sneak Preview of Notable Boats at the Show.

Fort Lauderdale Boat Show Preview: Must-See Megayachts

118' (36 m) Trinity Time For Us
Burger Yacht Sales presents Time For Us, a Trinity raised-pilothouse motor yacht whose traditional lines have timeless appeal. Launched in 1999 as the former Chevy Toy by the Louisiana shipyard, the 118-footer has a proven aluminum hull and custom interior designed by Claudette Bonneville. Handcrafted millwork in cherry, madrone burl and flamed mahogany draws the eye in her public rooms. Four staterooms, including the owner’s suite, VIP suite and two guest staterooms, sleep eight on the lower deck. Her large aft-deck dining area is perfect for sunset meals, while the huge, shaded sun deck with bar and Jacuzzi offers a spa-like retreat above it all. www.burgerboat.com (Click image to enlarge)

115' (35 m) Benetti Bella Dawn
Classically styled inside and out, Bella Dawn is a member of the established Classic 115 series of composite tri-deck motor yachts from Benetti. Merle Wood & Associates presents the yacht, which the Italian shipyard launched in 2002, at the show. Bella Dawn has wide exterior side decks that facilitate crew operations, while her large flybridge holds a Jacuzzi for relaxation aloft. High-gloss handcrafted joinery adorns throughout all three decks, from the comfortable skylounge to the main deck with its salon, dining area and owner’s suite—complete with private office—to the four guest staterooms below. Power is provided by upgraded Caterpillar 12V3412s. www.merlewood.com (Click image to enlarge)

115' (35 m) Crescent Blind Faith
This Jack Sarin–designed composite motor yacht, launched by Crescent in 1996, enjoyed a major interior refurbishment in 2003 and another refit this year. She is presented at the boat show by The Sacks Group. New soft goods throughout her guest accommodations, which sleep eight in four staterooms, enhance original details of her design, such as glass pedestal sinks in the owner’s bathroom and the marble-and-onyx foyer. Guests find no end of ways to entertain themselves on board, from watching DVDs on the salon’s 42-inch pop-up plasma TV to playing with the fleet of water toys, including a 32-foot Intrepid tender. Blind Faith’s underwater lights and camera illuminate the marine world below. www.sacksyachts.com (Click image to enlarge)

110' (34 m) Lazzara 110
Florida shipyard Lazzara Yachts plans to showcase its entire line of composite motor yachts at the show, including the flagship Lazzara 110. Although the 110 is a semi-production series, no two yachts launched to date have been identical. Hull No. 9, on display at the docks, has an open flybridge sheltered by a hardtop. Other versions have enclosed the flybridge (pictured). The show boat will also feature new interior styling characterized by high-gloss makoré wood complemented by a rich color scheme. The Lazzara 68, 74 and 84 also will be on hand, along with a new, secret project the shipyard claims will "revolutionize the yachting industry." www.lazzarayachts.com (Click image to enlarge)

109' (33 m) Mangusta 108
Gas turbines combined with MTU 12V4000 M90 diesels and KaMeWa waterjets make the Mangusta 108 one of the fastest open yachts on the water. The Rodriguez Group, which oversees the Mangusta line, reports the model’s top speed in the 37- to 51-knot range. When she is not burning up the water, this stylish composite model also provides a wealth of places to enjoy the sea at rest, including two huge sun pads fore and aft. Below, the owner’s suite and two guest staterooms are forward, leaving ample space amidships for a lower-deck lounge and bigger aft crew quarters than are generally found on a yacht of this size. www.rodriguezgroup.com (Click image to enlarge)
