A Sneak Preview of Notable Boats at the Show.

Fort Lauderdale Boat Show Preview: Must-See Megayachts

106' (32 m) Westship Maryann
It’s all about the view on this raised-pilothouse motor yacht, which features a full-beam salon lined with large picture windows. Launched from the Westship yard in 1998, she is presented at the show by Westport Yacht Sales. Well-designed space planning gives Maryann a five-stateroom layout, allowing her to host more guests than is typical for her size range. Her owner’s suite encompasses a king-size berth and his-and-hers heads with a shared Jacuzzi and shower. A VIP suite and two additional staterooms round out the accommodations. Maryann also has a separate captain’s cabin. Her galley is configured as a country kitchen for the owner, who likes to cook. www.westportyachts.com (Click image to enlarge)

103' (31.4 m) Azimut 105
Azimut’s highly successful, composite-built 105 fly packs performance, volume, versatility and contemporary European styling into a vessel that looks and feels like a much larger yacht. She runs as fast as an open model, flying across the sea at speeds of up to 27 knots and cruising at 25 with twin MTU 12V4000 M92s. Yet her flybridge configuration gives her spacious interior volume that permits indoor dining for 10 and even a separate media room. Stefano Righini’s flexible interior layout offers a choice of four or five staterooms. The Italian shipyard will also introduce a new open model at the show: the 35-knot Azimut 62S. www.azimutyachts.com (Click image to enlarge)

100' (30.5 m) NorthStar 100 NorthStar Lady III
Naval architect Jack Sarin designed the hull for the new NorthStar 100 pilothouse motor yacht series from Washington shipyard NorthStar Yachts. The recently launched NorthStar Lady III is powered by twin MTU 12V2000 diesels. Her large teak cockpit and swim platform are conducive to all kinds of watersports, including big-game fishing. Her interior features hand-finished quarter-sawn cherry joinery throughout, even in the crew quarters. In addition to a king-berth owner’s suite and three guest staterooms, the 100 features a multi-bunk "family retreat" with a shared head in the bows. International Yacht Collection will present this yacht and an 80-foot NorthStar model at the show. www.iyc.com (Click image to enlarge)

97' (29.6 m) Hargrave Cocktails
Hargrave is celebrating the world debut of four new yachts at the Fort Lauderdale show. Cocktails, a 97-foot Hargrave raised pilothouse, is a great entertainer, with a huge flybridge shaded by a hardtop with retractable canopy. A bar, lounge area and oversized hot tub offer guests several options for alfresco fun. Her interior, trimmed in gleaming cherry, includes a salon with a lighted, onyx-topped bar and plasma TV, a dining area and an eat-in galley. The versatile stateroom layout accommodates up to 10 guests using Pullman berths, and there are quarters for four to five crew. Twin Caterpillar C30s give composite-hulled Cocktails a top speed of 23 knots. www.hargrave.org (Click image to enlarge)

97' (29.6 m) Hargrave Hooter Patrol IV
Several owners of the Hooters restaurant chain recently took delivery of this 97-foot Hargrave Capri flybridge motor yacht. Like the famous eateries, the yacht is designed to provide an atmosphere of relaxation and fun. Her interior features Hawaiian prints and island colors against a backdrop of varied woods such as cherry, sapelle, anigre and bird’s-eye. The main deck blends salon, dining area and galley into one wide-open entertaining space. The owner’s suite is completely private, accessed by a different stair than the four forward staterooms. Hooter Patrol IV’s flybridge doubles as a sports bar, with a television that lowers automatically from the overhead when the game is on. www.hargrave.org (Click image to enlarge)
