A Sneak Preview of Notable Boats at the Show.

Fort Lauderdale Boat Show Preview: Must-See Megayachts

85' (26 m) Posillipo Technema 85
Demand for a larger model by owners of the popular Posillipo Technema 80 who wanted to move up motivated the Rizzardi shipyard to launch the new 85. The yacht’s styling is based on the smaller model’s exterior design, drawn by naval architect Gianni Zuccon. Two large windows on each side of the superstructure give her the Posillipo Technema stamp and also provide guests with spectacular views. Her interior layout, which features four staterooms, makes good use of the volume provided by her flybridge configuration. Owners have a choice of including a tender garage, a large storage space or a comfortable captain’s cabin in the foredeck. www.rizzardi.com (Click image to enlarge)

82' (25 m) Horizon Lady O
The versatile Lady O is a 2005 Horizon motor yacht presented by The Sacks Group at the boat show. Built in Taiwan, she is a luxury cruiser that doubles as a fishing boat, thanks to her large cockpit. Overlooking it, the warm teak aft deck, shaded by an overhang, is perfect for outdoor dining. Lady O’s main deck is open from the makoré-trimmed salon all the way to the country kitchen forward. Accommodations below include a full-beam owner’s suite and two staterooms, plus separate quarters for a captain and crewmember. The enclosed wheelhouse incorporates a large skylounge that makes her feel like a megayacht. www.sacksyachts.com (Click image to enlarge)

78' (24 m) Alfamarine 78
Italian shipyard Alfamarine’s new 78-foot composite model is the epitome of the high-performance open-style motor yacht that is so popular in the Med. This futuristic-looking vessel is powered by twin 1,800-hp Caterpillar diesels coupled to Arneson surface drives that give her a heady top speed of 48 knots and a 35-knot cruise. But the Alfa 78 also provides plenty of fun while at anchor, with her large teak watersports platform and two huge sun pads. Her contemporary, three-stateroom layout includes a lavish, full-beam owner’s suite. The aft compartment with galley and crew quarters has a separate entry. 77' (23.5 m) Rodriquez Yachts 800 WideBody
Rodriquez Yachts, the Italian yard that builds vessels from 50 to 200 feet in length, has created the feel of a much larger yacht in its new 800 WideBody model. Designer Francesco Paszkowski and Rodriquez staff member Pietro Camilli were the creative team behind this sporty yet comfortable yacht. They maximized her interior living space by eliminating the main-deck walkarounds and expanding the salon out to full-beam width. This open, relaxing space is trimmed in wengé wood and cream-colored leather. An owner’s suite and three guest staterooms lie below. The upper deck provides a much larger entertainment area than is typically found on a 77-footer capable of 30-knot speeds. www.brbyachts.com (Click image to enlarge)

77' (23.5 m) Hatteras 77 Convertible
The latest addition to Hatteras Yachts’ line of quality composite sportfishing yachts is designed to fit the needs of serious anglers and cruising families alike, without compromise. Graced with an eye-catching exterior, the Hatteras 77C has the hullform and power to chase big game offshore, plus a 192-square-foot cockpit and an upper mezzanine for watching baits. Her enclosed flybridge allows for safe navigation, even in rough weather. The elegant interior, finished in cherry with neutral furnishings, features a flexible floor plan. The owner’s suite can be configured with a foyer, office or lounge overlooking the bedroom. The Hatteras 77C also has three guest staterooms and a separate crew quarters. www.hatterasyachts.com (Click image to enlarge)
