Blue
Moon A yacht this large and technologically advanced may come along
only once in a blue moon, but she is the third yacht of the same name owned by
Richard and Judi Duchossois of Chicago, and the second they have built at
Feadship’s Royal Van Lent shipyard. These experienced owners returned to De
Voogt Naval Architects and interior designer Donald Starkey to create their
third Blue Moon. Among Blue Moon’s many highlights are a tubular elevator, guest
accommodations that can be converted into "super suites" and "Judi’s Patio," an
indoor/outdoor dining salon on the bridge deck. www.feadship.nl (Click image to enlarge)

Lürssen Linda Lou While German superyacht builder Lürssen is known for its
eye-catching stand in the Superyacht Builders and Designers tent, the shipyard
rarely has the opportunity to display a vessel during the show. This year, the
recently launched 60-meter Lürssen motor yacht Linda Lou will be in Fort Lauderdale. Her beautifully
proportionate exterior lines were designed by Espen Oeino, while François
Zuretti created her classic interior styling. Large windows on the bridge deck
and in the flybridge lounge provide spectacular views. Linda Lou is built in accordance with Lloyd’s and MCA

range. A huge flying bridge and a sheltered aft deck are among the many
comfortable gathering spots incorporated into her layout. Merle Wood &
Associates presents the recently refit and repainted Teddy at the boat show. With a 5,800-nm range, a 14-knot cruise speed,

the 90’s sleek deckhouse styling is also reminiscent of a racy open model. The
lower deck showcases impressive space planning with nearly equivalent full-beam
owner’s and VIP suites located amidships and forward. Two more staterooms with
ensuite heads face each other across the companionway. The main-deck salon,

loaded. That velocity comes courtesy of a pair of MTU 16V2000s paired to
Arneson surface drives. She is very much a Pershing, with a superstructure
that resembles her larger 115 sibling. Perched atop the 90’s deckhouse is a
romantic solarium. Her foredeck also has an inviting sun pad, along with a
dinette. Fulvio De Simoni, collaborating with the Pershing and Ferretti design

its big new 90 yacht. Her well–thought-out design maximizes the use of every
square inch of space. On the main deck, a formal dining table seating eight is
placed off-center to provide maximum elbow room. A bar with stools provides a
graceful transition to the main salon, while a dayhead is located nearby for
convenience. The galley is separate, laid out with access to the side deck and

U.S. market. The new 88 combines European styling and craftsmanship with
Viking’s well-established service and support system. Each 88 is built with
all-U.S. electrical systems and appliances. The spacious interior layout has
a separate dining room on the main deck—unusual for a yacht of this size—and a
flybridge bar and dinette. The four-stateroom plan on the lower deck includes a

lines that give her a high-end automotive look. Yet hidden within those sculpted
angles are full walkarounds that allow safe access to the foredeck. Exterior
dining is a pleasure on the round aft-deck table, which converts to a sun pad.
In the salon, the décor is contemporary but understated, while big windows
provide near-360-degree views. The owner’s suite with a walk-in closet and the
two guest staterooms feature madrone burl cabinetry and black marble soles in
the heads. Surprisingly, the crew quarters are finished to the same level. Merle

drawn by naval architect Gianni Zuccon. Two large windows on each side of the
superstructure give her the Posillipo Technema stamp and also provide guests
with spectacular views. Her interior layout, which features four staterooms,

perfect for outdoor dining. Lady
O’s main deck is open from the
makoré-trimmed salon all the way to the country kitchen forward. Accommodations

78' (24 m) Alfamarine 78 Italian shipyard Alfamarine’s new 78-foot composite model is
the epitome of the high-performance open-style motor yacht that is so popular in
the Med. This futuristic-looking vessel is powered by twin 1,800-hp Caterpillar
diesels coupled to Arneson surface drives that give her a heady top speed of 48
knots and a 35-knot cruise. But the Alfa 78 also provides plenty of fun
while at anchor, with her large teak watersports platform and two huge sun pads.
Her contemporary, three-stateroom layout includes a lavish, full-beam owner’s
suite. The aft compartment with galley and crew quarters has a separate entry.

Rodriquez Yachts 800 WideBody Rodriquez Yachts, the Italian yard that builds vessels from 50
to 200 feet in length, has created the feel of a much larger yacht in its
new 800 WideBody model. Designer Francesco Paszkowski and Rodriquez staff
member Pietro Camilli were the creative team behind this sporty yet comfortable
yacht. They maximized her interior living space by eliminating the main-deck
walkarounds and expanding the salon out to full-beam width. This open,
relaxing space is trimmed in wengé wood and cream-colored leather. An
owner’s suite and three guest staterooms lie below. The upper deck provides a
much larger entertainment area than is typically found on a 77-footer capable of
30-knot speeds. www.brbyachts.com (Click image to enlarge)

Ocean Alexander 74 Known for its high-tech engineering, Ocean Alexander uses
carbon-fiber–infused composite and a vacuum-bag layup technique in building
its new 74 motor yacht. The resulting boat is lightweight, yet tough enough for
offshore passages. Although she is a production model, the Asian shipyard offers
owners quite a bit of flexibility in her layout. The flybridge has a variety of
seating options, and a dayhead is available. The main-deck salon and galley come
in different configurations, and the owner’s suite is offered with his-and-hers
heads or a single head and walk-in closet. The 74’s interior, richly trimmed in
sakura wood, also holds two guest staterooms and a crew quarters.

Hercules is an expedition yacht designed for ocean
voyages in all latitudes. Her steel displacement hull features double-bottom
construction and five watertight compartments for ultimate safety. But while her

finished to luxury yacht standards, with satin-varnished woodwork and granite
countertops. Sponberg Yacht Design created her layout, which includes three
large staterooms located amidships for comfort while in a seaway. Although crew
quarters are included in her general arrangement, Hercules was designed to be operated by an experienced
