A Sneak Preview of Notable Boats at the Show.

Fort Lauderdale Boat Show Preview: Must-See Megayachts

215' (65.5 m) Shadow Marine City of Vegas
The new Allure Class vessel from Shadow Marine blurs the line between support boat and superyacht. In addition to providing enormous transport and storage capacity for helicopters, yacht tenders, toys and supplies, City of Vegas offers luxury accommodations and amenities in her own right. This former commercial vessel has a completely new interior featuring six balconied guest suites. Public rooms ideal for entertaining on board include a skylounge and library. The Allure Class Shadow Boat joins the Paladin Class and Mystere Class in the successful Shadow Marine line. www.shadowmarine.com (Click image to enlarge)

198' (60.4 m) Feadship Blue Moon
A yacht this large and technologically advanced may come along only once in a blue moon, but she is the third yacht of the same name owned by Richard and Judi Duchossois of Chicago, and the second they have built at Feadship’s Royal Van Lent shipyard. These experienced owners returned to De Voogt Naval Architects and interior designer Donald Starkey to create their third Blue Moon. Among Blue Moon’s many highlights are a tubular elevator, guest accommodations that can be converted into "super suites" and "Judi’s Patio," an indoor/outdoor dining salon on the bridge deck. www.feadship.nl (Click image to enlarge)

197' (60 m) Lürssen Linda Lou
While German superyacht builder Lürssen is known for its eye-catching stand in the Superyacht Builders and Designers tent, the shipyard rarely has the opportunity to display a vessel during the show. This year, the recently launched 60-meter Lürssen motor yacht Linda Lou will be in Fort Lauderdale. Her beautifully proportionate exterior lines were designed by Espen Oeino, while François Zuretti created her classic interior styling. Large windows on the bridge deck and in the flybridge lounge provide spectacular views. Linda Lou is built in accordance with Lloyd’s and MCA requirements for a yacht of her size. www.lurssen.com (Click image to enlarge)

174' (53 m) Perini Navi Atmosphere
Winner of a 2000 ShowBoats International Award, the magnificent sailing yacht Atmosphere is presented at the boat show by Perini Navi USA’s brokerage division. Her towering rig carries more than 14,000 square feet of sail, while twin Deutz TBD616 V12 diesels give her a 15-knot top speed under power. Atmosphere’s teak exterior decks offer guests prime viewing spots from the flybridge and the sheltered lounge abaft the deckhouse. Her luxurious owner’s suite encompasses a sauna and steam room. Up to 10 more guests are accommodated in four additional staterooms; two with Pullman berths. Atmosphere is a stunning example of Italian shipyard Perini Navi’s art and craftsmanship. www.perininavi.it (Click image to enlarge)

164' (50 m) Amels Teddy
The fine hand of designer Terence Disdale can be seen throughout this oceangoing motor yacht, particularly in her magnificent six-stateroom interior. Launched by the Amels shipyard in 1997, steel-hulled Teddy set the standard for Dutch-built megayachts in the 50-meter size range. A huge flying bridge and a sheltered aft deck are among the many comfortable gathering spots incorporated into her layout. Merle Wood & Associates presents the recently refit and repainted Teddy at the boat show. With a 5,800-nm range, a 14-knot cruise speed, ZeroSpeed stabilizers and full MCA certification, she is ready to take on the world, one exotic port at a time. www.merlewood.com (Click image to enlarge)
