Although no one involved with the project will confirm it, several publications,
including Sports Illustrated, have reported that the owner of Christensen
Shipyards’ most recent launch is none other than golfing legend Tiger Woods. The
155-foot motor yacht, ironically christened Privacy, is the first in a new
series.
Seven years ago, with the launch of Silver Lining, Christensen
reached a new milestone by delivering the first of its 150-foot series motor
yachts - at the time, the company’s largest and most elaborate offering.
Although the popularity of the yacht led to several more orders, potential
customers continually expressed a desire for expanded volume in the after
section of the lower-deck accommodation.
Nearly three years ago, Christensen
made the decision to improve the design, and this past summer, the yard
delivered the first yacht built to the new specifications. With four-and-a-half
feet more beam in her afterbody than previous sisterships, Privacy has
noticeably larger guest cabins and a substantially wider aft deck. In addition,
the new hull offers more reserve buoyancy, which means that it draws less water,
thereby enhancing its operational profile in such shallow regions as the Bahamas
and South Florida.
