In the dictionary next to the definition of Expedition Yacht there should be a
picture of Andiamo. Feadships have long cruised around the world, but they’ve
done it in the guise of traditional white yachts. Andiamo’s owner gave De Voogt
and Royal Van Lent the chance to show what they could do in this increasingly
popular genre and the results are excellent. This wonderful yacht wraps Glade
Johnson’s luxurious interior in a hull that shrugs at tough sea conditions and
marshals on – a good thing considering her owner’s energetic cruising schedule.
While sacrificing nothing – not even a piano – the yacht is designed with
comfort and safety at sea in mind. This shows in everything from stair and
office placement to unique safety latches in the galley that prevent heavily
laden drawers from accidentally flying open or slamming shut when the boat
encounters steep seas.
