How many sailboats – that still look like sailboats – can claim to cruise at 17
knots either sailing or motoring? For builder Perini Navi, indeed for the entire
sailing community, Felicità west is a study in superlatives. This yacht is not
only the largest in length and tonnage, but is also her builder’s first
all-aluminum project. At her launch, Felicità west was also the longest aluminum
yacht, power or sail, ever built. Yet, for her massive volume and powerful
appearance, this yacht still retains the refined styling of a sailing
thoroughbred, with long, elegant bow, sweeping sheerline and sweetly raked
stern. The value of such a long waterline is proven in the fact she incorporates
a large flybridge without disturbing the beauty of her lines. Beautiful interior
joinery and intelligent use of Felicità’s enormous volume round out the package.
The combination of naval architect Ron Holland, Nuvolari Lenard design and
Perini Navi engineering resulted in a magnificent achievement.
