Highest Technical Achievement in a Motor Yacht ~ Aussie Rules
Greg Norman’s Aussie Rules gets a lot of well-deserved attention for her elegant interior, sophisticated entertainment and communications systems, and the way she blends the beauty of a traditional, fully equipped white superyacht with the utility and self-sufficiency of a true expeditionary vessel. But for those who look beyond the sheen and the shine, Aussie Rules is living proof of what happens when a focused and knowledgeable owner teams up with a world-class shipyard. Norman’s commitment to the highest level of mechanical systems is evident in the growth of Aussie Rules several times during design to ensure adequate space for technical excellence. Builder Oceanfast backed up its client’s wishes by purchasing and employing the latest 3-D design software to produce as perfect a technical installation as humanly possible. The result is stunning both in terms of function and form. The yacht’s naval architecture had to account for several unusual weight and stability issues, notably Aussie Rules’ 42-foot sportfishing tender carried on deck and a jet helicopter.
