As it does every year, the 2004 ShowBoats Awards showcases the finest
accomplishments of the luxury yacht industry in the fields of design,
construction and engineering. It also showcases the vision and commitment of the
many yacht owners who invest their resources, their passion and their vision in
the skilled professionals who bring their dreams to life. This year’s awards
have been changed slightly to reflect the evolution of the luxury yacht
industry. Due to the ever-increasing size of yachts being produced today, a
middle category of 45 to 56 meters has been added to the judging of
full-displacement motor yachts. In addition, the dividing line between large and
small in the semi-displacement motor yacht category and in the sailing yacht
category has been increased from 38 meters to 40 meters to help even the playing
field. Finalist yachts are also listed with each category. The ShowBoats Awards
will be presented June 24 at ceremonies in the Grimaldi Forum during the 15th
Annual ShowBoats Rendezvous in Monaco.
