Best Full-Displacement Motor Yacht Over 56 Meters ~ Rising Sun
Rising Sun motor yacht
Rising Sun motor yacht
Unlike some of her jumbo-size predecessors, 454-foot Rising Sun is no commercial vessel masquerading as a yacht, but rather a stunning achievement reflecting the highest standards of yacht design and construction. A strikingly masculine thoroughbred, she is a fitting tribute to the iconic design talent of the late Jon Bannenberg, who masterfully interpreted owner Larry Ellison’s brief for a modern vessel inspired by the great ocean liners of the 1930s and ’40s. Rising Sun is enormous, but every inch impresses. Her machinery spaces are as beautifully finished as her sophisticated, semi-minimalist interior. Wide, elegant side decks, an extravagant open foredeck and spectacular aft terraces make the statement that even on such a large yacht, the most lavish feature is uncluttered space. She also offers 28-knot top speed, superlative crew quarters and service access, a fleet of custom tenders, awesome interior views from curved floor-to-ceiling windows, and quite likely more custom stainless detailing than even the loveliest and largest liners of yesteryear. Rising Sun not only is the longest private yacht ever built, but she also sets the standard for every luxury yacht that will follow in her wake.
