Best Full-Displacement Motor Yacht Under 56 Meters ~ Triton
Triton motor yacht
Triton motor yacht

Triton’s owner is fond of saying, "There is no dress rehearsal for life," and so it is when a shipyard commits to engineering a massive new mold for the largest composite yacht ever built in the United States. Her owners, experienced circumnavigators, asked Delta to provide the self-sufficiency and redundant systems necessary for safe and comfortable bluewater voyage and exploration. With dimensions of 163 feet by 31.5 feet by nine feet, she offers serious interior volume and affords a 6,000-mile range at 13 knots. Triton has sophisticated sonar for mapping the bottom and storing the results as 3-D charts, a substantial scuba diving station, a crow’s nest with elevator and a video-editing studio to preserve the family’s adventures. Her most significant features, however, are the cantilevered helicopter landing platform atop the launch-and-retrieval mechanism for her two main tenders. Delta also devised a clever way to tow a tender safely against the hull when fishing, enabling the angler to step off Triton
into the small boat to fight a fish without ever letting go of the rod. A sportsman’s dream, her Art Deco-themed salons reflect artfully designed relationships to the outdoors.
