Best Semi-Displacement Motor Yacht Over 40 Meters ~ Ecstasea
Ecstasea motor yacht
Ecstasea motor yacht

Ecstasea opens a new, no-compromise chapter in fast luxury yacht design. This magnificent 282-foot yacht can land two helicopters simultaneously – storing one in a forward heligarage – while offering exceptional accommodations, including an entire owner’s deck. This is her owner’s second turbine-powered yacht and the experience shows. In a masterfully engineered space, Ecstasea houses four diesel engines and a 33,000-hp GE turbine surrounded by a massive sound shield. The diesels are coupled in pairs to variable-pitch propellers and the turbine drives the world’s largest Lips waterjet. Thanks to attention paid to weight and an efficient hull, this yacht can make 12 knots on two engines; 27 knots on four engines, and hits an astounding 35 knots when the turbine kicks in. The magnificent engine room features a large soundproofed booth staffed by two Class One engineers who control turbine operations. With her fine bow, she can run at full speed in five- to seven-foot seas. Everything about the yacht’s exterior living space design had to be reconsidered in the wake of the demands of her machinery, yet her gracious aft decks are as lovely as any built to date.
