It would be far easier to note things that Blue Moon doesn’t have than to compress her magnificent features into a short list. This is the owner’s third Starkey-designed yacht, and his second custom build. This yacht reflects evolutionary changes that match a changing lifestyle. The yacht is more homelike and more suitable to longer stays in more varied climatic conditions. Outdoor covered living spaces on two decks, which can be turned into indoor spaces with folding or sliding glass panels, greatly add to the yacht’s livability, as does its round glass elevator. Blue Moon features spacious guest quarters with innovative flexibility and a sophisticated, very private atmosphere within the owner’s four-room apartment on the main deck. Clever crew quarters allow the berthing of a pilot or two without impinging on the permanent crew. High-tech features, such as an azimuthing thruster that retracts into the engine room and thermal sensors on electrical junctions throughout the boat, are small details that greatly enhance peace of mind.
