Reflecting the increasing size and complexity of its custom builds, some three years ago Benetti created new construction facilities for large steel and aluminum yachts in Livorno, Italy. The first issue from that plant is Galaxy, and her successful first season of chartering and cruising proves both the yacht and the yard to be well conceived. A new owner acquired Galaxy after construction had already begun, and the Benetti design team met the task of redesigning the yacht within the existing envelope to cater to the needs of her enthusiastic Australian family. These owners envisioned a yacht that celebrates her surroundings, and so Galaxy is all about opportunities to enjoy the view, whether from the observation lounge of the split-level master suite forward or from the glass-wrapped bridge-deck dining salon aft, which is able to offer the alfresco experience at the touch of a button. Even the glass elevator is a "lift" with a view as it rises from guest cabins to the altitudinous gym at sun-deck level.
