Best Sailing Yacht Interior ~ Parsifal III
There is something unique about a couple who contracts for a 177-footer (54-meter) on the basis of building the "fastest Perini ever." Not that all Perinis haven’t been moving up the speed curve since the move to aluminum hulls, but Kim and Nina Vibe-Peterson wanted to smoke the competition. Yes, Parsifal III is a paragon of technology with substantial weight savings and a brilliant keel that creates lift and improves windward performance—which is much harder than it looks, but it is what we expect from Perini today. In a 177-footer, it would be so tempting to cram in everything, weight and balance be damned. But Parsifal’s team did not falter from the prime directive. The GA shifts the engine room and thus the layout to concentrate weight to where it is most beneficial without sacrificing crew service or luxury lifestyle—this is harder still. Remi Tessier’s high-contrast interpretation of a lightweight interior with a nod to Danish modern is fresh, spellbinding and ahead of the curve, as is Perini’s perennial ability to execute designs with exacting tolerances and difficult materials and finishes.
