There’s no question that an awards affair in Monaco among the luminaries of yachting is fun, but the fact is that the achievements honored on the following pages are critical to the growth and enjoyment of yachting. The winners set the bar just a bit higher each year, challenging themselves and their peers to create, invent, expand and refine. In doing so, they continually redefine our industry and its commerce. The 16th annual ShowBoats International Awards were presented June 22 at Le Sporting Club de Monaco’s Salle des Étoiles. In addition to the awards presented here, ShowBoats International announced the winners of the first-ever Readers Choice Award. The new Flagship Award for a lifetime of yachting achievement was presented to veteran yachtsman Jim Moran, and guest of honor Walter Cronkite took home this year’s SeaKeeper Award.
