Dockwise Yacht Transport christens world’s largest yacht carrier.
Waterfront: Transatlantic Taxi

Dockwise Yacht Transport’s 688-foot Yacht Express made her maiden voyage from Port Everglades to Genoa last spring in 14 days with 17 yachts worth $154 million on board. The float-on/float-off vessel was built at Yantai Raffles Shipyard in China and is the largest ship in the world dedicated to yacht transport. With a service speed of 18 knots, she can reduce transit time to 10 days. She joins the DYT fleet of three other semi-submersible yacht carriers.

Amenities aboard Yacht Express include complimentary cabins for ride-aboard crew (who may perform maintenance while in transit), conference and fitness facilities, a cinema, restaurant, atrium lounge and a pool.

DYT outfitted the ship with the International SeaKeepers Society’s SeaKeeper 1000 monitoring system that samples, measures, records and transmits indicators of ocean health while under way.
