Waterfront: Waterfront Challenge
Interlux has issued a Waterfront Challenge. The yacht paint company will award $60,000 in grants to organizations that create sustainable waterfront environmental improvements in their communities. Groups of three or more eligible people—yacht club members, scout troops, families, even those formed just to participate—may enter. Eight $5,000 to $25,000 grants will be awarded at the Miami International Boat Show in February 2009. Applicants have until this November 5, 2008, to enter and execute their program. Group leaders must be at least 18 and a legal resident of the United States, Canada or the Caribbean. The project must be a new one, and the participants must have worked on it for at least two days.

Bob Donat, Interlux’s vice president of marketing, said: "The health of our bays, streams, lakes and oceans is vital to the future of boating. The Waterfront Challenge is a real opportunity for everyone to make a difference."
