Mirgab V Is Shipyard’s Largest Aluminum Yacht to Date.
Waterfront: A Bigger Burger

Burger Boat 144
Burger Boat Company’s decision to reposition its custom yacht upward to the 115- to 200-foot range saw its first tangible fruit with the launch of Mirgab V. The 144-foot (43.8-meter) tri-deck motor yacht splashed to the applause of some 1,200 spectators at the Wisconsin shipyard in May. She is the largest aluminum yacht built by Burger Boat in its 143-year history.

Burger’s in-house team designed and engineered the project, which includes more than 8,100 square feet of interior and exterior living space. Mirgab V’s interior plan centers around a pneumatic glass-tube elevator that spans all three decks and is wrapped by a stunning circular bronze stairway with illuminated glass treads. The stair, designed and crafted by Les Metalliers Champenois, is grounded by nearly 1,076 square feet of rare onyx. Raised-panel African cherry makoré joinery is also featured throughout the yacht. Mirgab V is ABS certified and MCA compliant. (Click image to enlarge)

Twin 12V4000 MTU diesels propel her semi-displacement hull to speeds of close to 20 knots. As we go to press, she is scheduled to be displayed at the Monaco Yacht Show in September.

But this is just the beginning for the bigger Burger line. After Mirgab V was signed, six more large-yacht orders followed, including Time for Us, a 154-foot tri-deck; two 127-foot tri-decks named Areti I and Areti II; the 144-foot fantail cruiser Sycara; the 142-foot tri-deck Sea Owl, and one as-yet-unnamed project measuring 101 feet.
