Waterfront: A Pair for Heesen

Heesen Yachts announced in January the launch of two motor yachts: 101 and Mon Plaisir. 101 is the second hull in the company’s 4400 semi-custom series, while 47-meter Mon Plaisir is the third displacement vessel of that size built recently at the Dutch yard.

Constructed with an aluminum hull and superstructure, 101 is equipped with at-anchor stabilizers and has a top speed of 25 knots. Omega Architects supplied the general concept and styling, and the owners were responsible for development of the interior design. Her interior features include elements such as black velvet, mirrors, black lacquered panels, onyx, silk, stained teak and stainless steel detailing. Heesen has sold six hulls in the 4400 series.

Mon Plaisir was designed to have exceptional interior volume and extensive external deck space and still weigh-in under 500 gross tons. With a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure, she reaches a top speed of 15.5 knots. Again, Omega Architects, which is in charge of the majority of projects under construction at Heesen, did the concept and styling, as well as the interior design. (Click image to enlarge)

Heesen describes Mon Plaisir’s interior style as "sober art deco." The company says, "…The classic deco character of the furniture, built in contrasting tones (light and dark wood), is harmoniously interrupted with stainless steel details on vertical interior elements." Stitched leather wall panels frame much of the metal hardware on the doors and cabinets.

A highlight of the 47-meter’s interior is the open main staircase, which is accentuated by a decorative column from the lower deck to the sun deck adorned with crocodile leather. The yacht has two full-beam VIPs and two twins on the lower deck with a master suite on the main deck forward.
