New Owner of Longtime Fort Lauderdale Builder Launches His First.
Waterfront: Broward Redux

Broward 120
Broward Marine launched its first yacht under the management of Tom Lewis, president and CEO, in mid-November of last year. Shown here three weeks before launch, 601, the 120-foot, raised-pilothouse widebody, features a main-deck owner’s suite, 10-place dining table, semi-gloss, handcrafted Italian joinery by Genesis Yachtline and a flybridge Jacuzzi. Designed by Evan Marshall, she is built to ABS specifications and is MCA compliant. Her 602 sistership, scheduled to launch in May 2007, differs with walkaround side decks, high-gloss joinery and ZeroSpeed stabilizers.

Broward lengthened 603 and 604 to 124 feet. The first of what is dubbed its Global series, 603 is for a European owner. Modifications include a portside garage door from which the tender and PWC will launch. On the main deck, an entertainment suite can double as an office. Prop tunnels will lower the draft to five feet eight inches, and a pair of 2,400-hp 16V2000 MTU common-rail engines will deliver a top speed close to 30 knots.
