Waterfront: "Brutal" Beauty
Russia’s Timmerman Yachts Updates Its 50-Meter Motor Yacht Design.

Timmerman 50
In a press release issued to announce the Martin Francis redesign of the Timmerman 50, company founder Roman Trotsenko is quoted saying, "We have achieved the right mix of Russian brutality in the exterior, inspired by the Soviet warships, with trendy yet relaxing and luxurious interiors of truly international flavor." In this case, brutal is in the eyes of the beholder, and some may perceive the yacht’s military-influenced lines as just plain sexy, in a masculine way. The first of the redesigned hulls will be laid in 2008 at Timmerman’s Moscow shipyard. With one more deck than her predecessor, she will have more interior volume while maintaining her light displacement and economical operation. She will sleep 10 in five cabins with a main-deck master that has a panoramic view. The yard thinks the redesign will extend the yacht’s appeal beyond the booming Russian market to the international superyacht community. (Click image to enlarge)
