High Hopes for New 80 from Down Under.
Waterfront: Crystal Blue Persuasion

Evolution Yachts 80
The latest yacht from Evolution Yachts, 80-foot (24.3-meter) Crystal Blue, has striking exterior lines reminiscent of the Western Australian shipyard’s 2005 launch, 110-foot Salacia. Designer Sam Sorgiovanni put his distinctive signature on both of these eye-catching yachts. Like her big sister, Crystal Blue has a dark hull contrasted by a white superstructure and Evolution’s trademark varnished wood panels. Her large, multilevel swim platform, designed to support fishing, diving and other watersports activities, was a design imperative.

The shipyard built Crystal Blue of advanced composites using both traditional hand layup and resin-infusion molding techniques. The hull, designed by naval architect Peter Lowe, combines 30-knot performance with solid seakeeping ability. Her interior spaces are laid out in typical open-yacht fashion, with a high-tech helm providing a focal point for the main deck. The salon features a large electric sunroof and surround-sound entertainment system. The galley is on the lower deck, along with four comfortable guest suites. Aft are laundry facilities and quarters for a crew of two.
