June 9, Christensen Shipyards christened Barchetta, a 157-foot (47.9-meter) motor yacht that represents the latest from the builder’s Custom Line series and is the first to sport the company’s new hull design, which includes a bulbous bow that offers better efficiency.

Custom Line yachts are a step up from the standard Christensen boats, which are generally started on spec. Customers who choose the Custom Line series are given more latitude in terms of interior design and outfitting as well as a choice of exterior styling details that set Custom Line boats apart from others in the builder’s fleet.

Built for a couple from the United States’ Pacific Northwest, Barchetta features an interior with a distinctly art-deco theme and cherry joinery that, while equal in quality to that used on previous boats in the series, is considerably more contemporary than the raised-panel style that has become a well-recognized feature of Christensen’s 150-series offerings.
