Spanish-built exploration vessel is the real deal.
Waterfront: Exploring History

Bon Pigall’s owner, a patron of the Argo Maris Foundation, uses his new yacht to research underwater Greek, Phoenician and Roman archaeological sites. He decided to step up from an 18-meter boat to a 24-meter (79-foot) vessel to utilize the Seaeye Lynx 1500 underwater ROV with its 450-meter umbilical cable.

The yacht’s salon is finished in burgundy-lacquered wood, aluminum panels and leather upholstery. She sleeps six guests and two crew in three ensuite staterooms and an owner’s stateroom forward. The accommodations are elegant, but the stylist, Victor Tebar, preserved the spirit of a working vessel.

She was designed by Arquinautic and built of aluminum at Dradisa shipyard in Vilanova, Spain. Her top speed is 22 knots with a pair of 800-hp Caterpillars. She cruises at 15 knots. A dedicated three-person main-deck control room houses all of the ROV and mission-centric operating equipment. Her dynamic positioning system features include close maneuvering, position holding, heaving to and robot-following.
