Waterfront: Ferretti Juggernaut Rolls
Italy-based company shows strong growth.

Italy’s Ferretti Group is on a roll. The company, headed by Norberto Ferretti, introduced no fewer than seven new models this fall at the Cannes boat show. New models introduced at the show included the Ferretti 510 and 881 RPH, the Pershing 72, the SportRiva 56, the Mochi Craft Dolphin 64 Fly, the Custom Line Navetta 26 and the CRN 43. The company also reported orders for the 2006/2007 nautical year in excess of one billion euros.

The three yachts pictured here—the SportRiva 56, the Dolphin 64 Fly and the CRN 43, Emerald Star—represent the diversity of the group’s offerings. The SportRiva is the first of a new line aimed at owners who, while not wishing to renounce the lines of an open, prefer the convenience of a closed, air-conditioned upper salon. The yacht has a number of innovative solutions for the exterior and interior layouts, such as a large living area on the upper deck and an elegant central ladder enabling easy access to the flybridge. The Mochi Craft Dolphin 64 Fly provides an alternative to the company’s Dolphin 64 Open, with an extra upper deck. In the traditional lobster yacht style of the Mochi Craft brand, the 64 Fly features a rounded hull, distinctive colors, the use of fine woods and leathers and a distinctive design. The CRN is the largest vessel built by that shipyard in composite. Launched in May of 2007, Emerald Star is the first hull of the 43-meter displacement line created by the CRN technical staff working in collaboration with the Zuccon International Project studio. The four-deck yacht stands out for her considerable size and her extensive open-air zones that are intended to bring her owner and guests into direct contact with the sea. One particularly notable feature is her stern hatch that lowers to create a spacious swim platform. Another distinctive feature is the balcony off the master suite. She can accommodate 10 passengers and nine crew. She cruises at 13 knots.
