MCP Enters North American Market.
Waterfront: First Blush

MCP 85
The design of the 85-foot aluminum yacht Shambhala reflects Manoel Chaves' experience as an offshore sailor. The trawler is the first from his company, Manoel Chaves Project, to penetrate the North American market despite the fact that Chaves has been designing and building yachts in Brazil for 23 years.

The main deck features a master suite forward, a salon, a galley with breakfast bar and – unconventionally located aft on the port side – a dining area. The guest quarters comprise three doubles and a twin, which tucks the foot of the bunks nicely under the staircase from the main deck.

The bridge deck includes a skylounge, which can be closed off from the helm, and a hot tub. Four crew share two forepeak cabins, one bath and a dinette.

The yacht is powered by a pair of 1,020-hp MAN D2840LE403 engines that take her to a top speed of 20 knots. At 12 knots, she has a range of 3,000 nautical miles.
