France’s Garcia Shipyard recently launched
Beniguet, an 85-foot aluminum sailing yacht designed by Jean Berret and Olivier
Racoupeau in collaboration with Pierre Frütschi. The three-twin-ensuite cabin
arrangement was created with direct input from the owner, who wanted to
accommodate his entire family aboard for summer cruises. The upper salon, which
includes the nav station, offers panoramic views. A U-shaped dinette to port
and lounge to starboard make up the lower main salon.
She accommodates four crew in two cabins forward. A
lifting keel gives access to shallow harbors and still allows the yacht to
sail to weather. A lounging cockpit features settees flanked by teak tables and
a walk-through to the sailing cockpit with its centerline helm. A transom garage
provides storage for the tender.
