Nordlund Builds 26.5-meter El Vato for Repeat Customers.
Waterfront: Frequent Fisher

Nordlund 87
The way to tell a quality shipyard is by the amount of repeat business it enjoys. The owners of the 87-foot (26.5-meter) sportfisher El Vato, recently launched by the Nordlund Boat Company shipyard in Tacoma, Washington, moved up from a 67-footer built by the same yard. Their new yacht, designed for tournament-style angling, provides them with a huge amount of additional interior volume, as well as a fully enclosed flybridge for comfortable navigation in rough conditions.

El Vato’s owners and the Nordlund team consulted legendary Pacific Northwest naval architect Ed Monk Jr. and structural designer Tim Nolan on the project. JS Westhoff & Co. prepared the interior drawings. The new sportfisher sleeps up to 12 guests in five staterooms, allowing her to double as a family cruiser. Her interior décor includes makoré wood cabinetry handcrafted at the Nordlund yard. Twin Caterpillar C32 diesels give her a 28-knot top end and the range to prowl the coasts of Southern California and Mexico seeking big fish.
