Waterfront: Goddess of the Moon
Perini Navi Splashes Selene, the Fourth in Its 56-Meter Series.

Perini Navi 184
Perini Navi launched the fourth sailing yacht in its 56-meter (184-foot) series and the company’s 39th yacht to date. The aluminum-hulled Selene splashed in January at Perini’s Picchiotti facility in Viareggio, Italy. Her sisterships are Burrasca, Santa Maria and Rosehearty. Perini designed the 56 meters in consultation with Ron Holland, who maximized their sailing performance. Selene has a deep-ballasted swing keel set within a shoal-ballasted fixed keel to enhance her windward. She is ketch-rigged and carries 1,483 square meters of sail. Her accommodations include a full-beam master suite and four double guest staterooms. Her interior differs somewhat from those of her sisterships. She has a lateral corridor to port that lets the crew transit from the aft cockpit to their quarters without disturbing the guests, and the main salon, bar and dining areas are separated by sliding doors.
