Waterfront: Leap of faith

Italy’s CBI Navi reached a new milestone with its late-summer launch of 51-meter Alibi. The yacht represents a major increase in size for the displacement yacht builder.

The summer kicked off for CBI Navi with the delivery of 34-meter Papinou, a classic canoe stern tri-deck by Willem De Vries Lentsch. The interior by Italian designer Umberto Tagliavini accommodates the owner on the main deck and eight guests below. Next launched was 33-meter Baloo, featuring a more modern Luca Dini profile and an interior by Felix Buytendijk.
Then – at nearly 20 meters longer – came the queen of the fleet, Alibi. Also designed by Dini, the steel-and-aluminum yacht is classed to Lloyd’s and is MCA-compliant. An enclosed gymnasium tops the four-deck yacht, which was decorated by Giorgio Radice. (Click image to enlarge)

Twelve guests are accommodated in a bridge-deck cabin, a main-deck owner’s suite and four lower-deck staterooms, including two VIP suites. A custom entertainment system supplies on-demand audio and video, and a state-of-the art wireless system provides network coverage throughout the yacht. Outside spaces include a sunbathing area forward of the wheelhouse and top-deck dining for 12 serviced by a dumbwaiter. A stern garage houses the 6.25-meter RIB and three Jet Skis.
