Proving 47 meters (155 feet) is a popular
size in the megayacht world, the ISA shipyard in Ancona, Italy, recently
launched its sixth hull in the 47-meter range. The owner and his family, as well
as many proud ISA craftsmen who labored aboard Axioma for the past
20 months, attended the festive ceremony.
Designer Walter Franchini drew the yacht’s contemporary
exterior, which features a sweeping curve in the aft superstructure. Her steel
hull is meant for ocean passages, topping out at 17 knots with twin 12V4000 MTU
diesels. Axioma displaces 484 tons; large enough to
provide luxurious comfort at sea, but just under the 500-ton mark that would put
her in a stricter MCA category. She is MCA compliant and RINA certified.
Luca Dini designed the interior plan, accommodating 12 guests in six
staterooms, attended by nine crew. The yacht’s elegant rooms will be washed with
light by Axioma’s many large windows.
