Riva’s new 75 upholds the company’s stylish traditions and pushes the envelope just a bit further.

Waterfront: Modestly Modern

Article Specs
Riva 75
The sumptuous new Riva 75 Venere, presented at Riva’s La Spezia, Italy, facilities, shares the same flowing yet aggressive lines of her larger flybridge siblings, 115-foot Athena and 85-foot Opera. As with the entire Riva range, the exterior and interior styling is by Mauro Micheli of Officina Italiana Design. "We have tried to accentuate the modern design without overdoing it," says Micheli. "Riva has a long heritage that has to be maintained, so the new 75 has fresh, clean-cut lines that retain the elegance Riva is known for."

The flybridge, for example, is equipped with a sweeping, automobile-inspired windscreen that extends almost to the spray screen. The deck’s dining area is protected from the sun by an electrohydraulic bimini. A fold-down awning shades the sun-bed area on the foredeck. Inside, where owners crave natural light, sunshine floods the main deck’s open-plan salon/dining area and the lower-deck owner’s cabin via oversized windows. (Click image to enlarge)

The ensuite guest accommodations consist of a VIP double cabin and two twin singles. Two crew berths are aft of the engine room.

The first hull on display in La Spezia showed light elm wood paneling combined with natural-tone fabrics and contrasting black detailing, but owners who prefer a more traditional look can choose dark walnut joinery. In fact, owners can personalize much of the Riva 75. Selected furniture items can be substituted, and a metallic exterior finish is also an option.

Attention to design details has always been a feature of Riva production, evidenced aboard the 75 by bulkheads with a sandwiched insulation layer that, at 40 millimeters thick, do away with the need for door frames. (Click image to enlarge)

Powered by twin 10-cylinder 1,524-hp MTUs, the Riva 75 has a top speed of 33 knots and a generous range of more than 300 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 29 knots.
