Waterfront: Out of Egypt
De Birs Launches a Big New 82 in Alexandria.

De Birs 82
1998, Dutch shipyard De Birs Yachts was reestablished in a new facility in Alexandria, Egypt, by a group of investors from Europe, Egypt and the United States. The yard now specializes in composite motor yachts from 82 to 100 feet. Due to its location in the Amria Free Zone, De Birs says it is able to offer high-quality yachts at a highly competitive price.

The shipyard recently launched a new 82-foot raised pilothouse motor yacht, with exterior styling by Italian designer Giorgio Barilani and naval architecture by Arrabito. The raised pilothouse design gives the 82 RPH LX a more spacious interior than in a typical 25-meter open yacht.

Accommodations for eight include a large owner’s suite with his-and-hers heads and a nearly equivalent VIP. Separate crew quarters are aft. London’s H2 Yacht Design created a choice of classic or contemporary interior designs for the new 82.
