Richmond Yachts in Vancouver, British Columbia, has delivered
142-foot (43.3-meter) Sun
Chaser to her owner, an Arizona businessman. The new
tri-deck, with exterior styling by Ward Setzer, is Hull No. 3 in the series and
the yard’s first 142-footer. The hull was pulled from the same mold as 138-foot
Status Quo and is built to ABS class and MCA code.
Sun Chaser features a roomy main-deck
master stateroom and bath. Four ensuite guest staterooms are on the lower deck.
A bridge-deck VIP suite completes the six-stateroom interior. The galley has
enough space for a casual dinette.
The spa deck includes a large, seven-by-eight-foot Jacuzzi,
fronted by a half-moon-shaped bar with five stools. The bartender can serve
forward to the stools as well as aft to the hot tub. A dayhead on the spa deck
reduces traffic flow to the lower decks.
Powered by a pair of 2,000-hp MTU 16V2000s, Sun Chaser has a top
speed of 19 knots and cruises comfortably at 16 knots.
