The Aicon 85, the Sicilian boatyard’s new flybridge flagship, was
presented last July in the splendid art deco surroundings of the Grand Hotel
Villa Igiea in Palermo. The naval engineering and exterior and interior styling
are by Marco Mannino. The 85 features the new-look large portholes that can be
opened to allow fresh air into the master and VIP cabins. Belowdecks, the master
suite is located amidships to take advantage of the full beam, whereas the VIP
cabin is in the bow. Two twin single cabins are positioned in between. There is
also room for two crew cabins and a dinette forward of the wheelhouse.
The comfortable, open-plan living area provides seating around the
dining table for eight guests, while the fully equipped galley is on a raised
split-level. There is both interior and exterior access to the spacious flydeck,
which can be covered by an extendable bimini top. A small plunge pool on the
flydeck is an exceptional amenity for a boat in the Aicon’s class.
Powered by twin Caterpillar 1,825-hp C32 engines, the 85 has a top
speed of 32 knots and a cruising speed of 28 knots.
