Venerable Dutch Yard Launches Vantage Series.
Waterfront: Semi-Custom, All Feadship

Feadship F45 Vantage
It’s not quite "a chicken in every pot," but Feadship, in an effort to broaden its market appeal, laid the keel of the first in a line of semi-custom motor yachts at Kaag Island in April. The Vantage F45 is targeted to buyers who want the Feadship nameplate without the time or investment associated with a custom build. Competitively priced, these 45-meter tri-decks will feature a 30-foot beam and a flexible interior layout based on five staterooms for the owner’s party and crew accommodation for 10.

Owners will be able to choose from four style packages with distinctive furnishings and fabric, stone and wood choices for the walls, soles, overheads and doors. According to Feadship Chairman Hein Velema, there will be some latitude for mixing elements within the four packages. Designed over a two-year, 5,000-man-hour process by Sinot Design and De Voogt Naval Architects with input from charter brokers, the Vantage-line look is modern and somewhat informal, with a casual main deck lounge, several indoor/outdoor spaces for socializing and a lower-deck galley. The yacht will be built to meet MCA certification but carefully kept under 500 gross registered tons.

The first two in the series will launch in 2007 and Feadship expects to produce one unit every five months. Velema says that they also plan to debut designs for a second semi-custom line of 131-foot (40m) boats later this fall.
