UK Builder Steps Up a Notch with Its 37-Meter Tri-Deck.
Waterfront: Sunseeker Superyacht

Sunseeker 121
Sunseeker’s new 37-meter (121-foot) tri-deck, presented at the London Boat Show in January, represents a significant step up in size for the British company as it impacts the market with its first true superyacht. After two years of development and significant investment in new shipyard facilities, the 37 was designed and built to meet full MCA compliance and RINA commercial accreditation and is the first in a new semi-custom range of superyachts that will include 34- and 30-meter versions. Accommodations on the 37 are luxurious, both in terms of size and appointment. The full-beam master stateroom on the main deck has a king-size berth, study area, separate toilet room and daytime seating area. Designed with the charter market in mind, and depending on how the owner plans to use the yacht, there is the option of two twins and two double guest cabins, or two twins and an aft master stateroom on the lower deck. Up to eight crew can move freely around the boat without intruding on guests. The captain’s cabin has direct access to the wheelhouse on the upper deck. Advanced hydraulic systems, optional stabilizers, computer-controlled generators and electrical systems make the 37 safe and reliable for long-distance cruising. With a choice of three engine options, the most powerful twin 12V4000 MTUs can drive the yacht at a maximum of 23 knots with a range of 1,500 nautical miles at 10 to 12 knots. The angular exterior styling of the 37 appealed to Eddie Jordan, the retired British Formula One entrepreneur and owner of the first hull; five additional orders already are placed.
