With the launch ceremony for 65-meter Ambrosia, the Benetti Shipyard reached two significant milestones in its long history: the launch of its largest and most technologically complex yacht to date, and the completion of the last metal yacht built in the company’s traditional Viareggio home. Benetti, which is moving its metal builds to its massive new facilities in nearby Livorno, made Ambrosia’s launch memorable. More than 600 people attended a ceremony that included a fireworks display, an orchestra, multimedia show and an aerial ballet. While Ambrosia is not the longest Benetti
yacht—that honor still belongs to 70-meter Reverie launched in 1999—she is larger in tonnage and volume.
Built with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, Ambrosia represents a big technological leap forward for Benetti in
her azipod diesel electric propulsion, dynamic positioning system and
night-vision navigation installation. Like Hong Kong–based owner Ambrous Young’s
previous Benetti of the same name, his newest Ambrosia showcases distinctive exterior styling by Stefano Natucci
and an art deco–inspired interior by Francois Zuretti that is in equal measures
comfortable, elegant and playful. Benetti |
