Offshore anglers are particularly discriminating when it comes to the design of their boats, but one requirement that remains foremost on their minds is speed. Apollonio designed the hull to attain more than 30 knots while minimizing vertical accelerations and slamming; a 23-foot beam provides rock-solid stability when trolling in a seaway. Equally important, the boat has a roomy, nicely outfitted engine room and racy, refined styling that will surely stand out in any assemblage of tournament-grade battlewagons.

The contemporary interior design executed by Sylvia Bolton sports rosewood joinery and luxurious soft goods, including upholstered panels on the bulkheads that help attenuate noise. The general arrangement provides a spacious four-cabin layout that includes a full-beam master stateroom, a pair of double cabins and a VIP stateroom on the lower deck. The main deck is arranged with a galley, dining area, lounge with entertainment center and dayhead; the covered California deck has a wet bar built against the forward bulkhead and can be fitted with a table and stools that overlook the cockpit, which is large and well appointed. The bridge deck’s enclosed wheelhouse is quite large and has ample room for an L-shaped lounge, a wet bar, an entertainment center and a second dayhead. Additional features include six control stations and proper interior and exterior access to all decks.

In short, NorthStar Lady is an unqualified head-turner and stands as a testament to the impressive capabilities of her builder.
