Heesen Yachts Chalks Up Three More Launches; 125 Total.
Waterfront: Triple Play

Heesen 122 & 135
Heesen Yachts, in its 27th year of building yachts in Oss, the Netherlands, has launched its 125th vessel. Let It Be, a 3700 series yacht, was named for the famous Beatles song. A Fab Four cover band performed for some 400 people who celebrated the boat’s christening at the shipyard.

Let It Be closely followed the splash of the second in the 37-meter series, Seascape. Both yachts are sisterships to Hull No. 1, Lady Ingeborg (see SBI January 2005), winner of the 2005 ShowBoats Award for Best Semi-Displacement Yacht Under 40 Meters. Heesen currently has four more of these popular raised pilothouse yachts under construction. Designed by Omega Architects, they feature modern lines that match their 32-knot performance offered by twin MTU 16V 4000 diesels.

Between the launches of Let It Be and Seascape, Heesen completed the build of 41-meter Seven Sins. Although this yacht also exhibits Omega Architects’ stylish exterior and interior design, it is vastly different from the 3700 yachts, clearly demonstrating the shipyard’s versatility. Built to ABS and MCA standards, Seven Sins is a full-displacement, steel-and-aluminum tri-deck with a range of 3,500 nautical miles. Her five-stateroom interior features semi-gloss cherry joinery throughout. She also has a stern garage that, in addition to carrying a six-meter tender and numerous water toys, incorporates a sauna and steam room. She is available for charter and will debut in the United States at the Fort Lauderdale boat show in October.
