Sparkman & Stephens Fast Cruiser from New England Boatworks.

Waterfront: Wolf In Sheep's Clothing

A wolf in sheep’s clothing emerged from the sheds at New England Boatworks last fall in the form of Predacious, a 65-foot (19.8-meter) fast cruiser designed by Sparkman & Stephens for a client who intends to run the boat between his homes in Florida and New York. The sheep comes in the form of the yacht’s genteel New England styling inside and out. Her main deck is trimmed out in cherry, and her lower spaces feature traditional white wainscoting above a chair rail and cherry paneling below. The ensuite master is forward with twin cabins to port and starboard. The ensuite starboard twin has a Pullman berth for when the children have friends aboard, and the port twin has a head with a full-size tub for bathing small children. The wolf comes in the form of lightweight composite construction and a pair of 1,550-hp Caterpillar C30 diesels that give her a top speed of 35 knots. Predacious is a custom build, but her molds are available for semi-custom projects.
