One of the largest megayacht facilities in the Mediterranean opened its doors. Monaco Marine La Ciotat is currently servicing the 38-meter Heesen Serenity, the 52-meter Amels Kiss the Sky and the 48-meter Amels Lady Georgina. The Tom Fexas legacy continues at Tom Fexas Yacht Design, where although the founding designer has passed away, many projects remain in the works. The design office, now led by David Glasco, is full speed ahead on new and current projects. More than 100 original interior and exterior designs drawn by Tom Fexas still exist. Trinity Yachts has purchased International Yacht Collection (IYC), thereby enabling the builder to offer clients an entire range of yachting services including new construction, repairs, brokerage, charter management, retail charter, yacht management and crew placement. Trinity builds vessels up to 300 feet at its Louisiana and Mississippi facilities. IYC boasts offices in Fort Lauderdale, Newport, Palm Beach, St. Maarten, Nassau and Monaco, where its staff has recently grown to include Phil Rose as European general manager and charter broker Sofia Lembrin. Churchill Yacht Partners added John DeCaro to its sales team. A 30-year yachting industry veteran, DeCaro has worked as both captain and sales broker. Prior to joining Churchill, DeCaro was a sales broker for Fraser Yachts and worked on about 20 yachts. Visit www.churchillyachts.com.

Asia Marine was voted the best Asia-based charter company at the third Christofle Asia Boating Awards. Other awards included the naming of Phuket as Asia’s maritime capital and the annual King’s Cup sailing regatta as the yachting event of the year. The judges also noted China’s rapid emergence in the megayacht construction market by voting Guangdong-based Kingship Marine the best Asian megayacht builder. The Ferretti Group announced the appointment of Vincenzo Cannatelli as CEO of the group, which is still headed by Ferretti Chairman and Founder Norberto Ferretti. Oscar Losada was appointed to vice president of sales and distribution for Ferretti Yachts, Mochi Craft and Custom Line. Island Global Yachting (IYG), owner, developer and manager of luxury marinas, announced the finalization of its agreement to buy Sun Resorts International and its subsidiary Sun Resorts Management. Palm Beach-based Dalton Designs won the contract for the interior design of the Dancer project, a 280-foot motor yacht currently under way at Derecktor Shipyards in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
