Respected interior designer Paola D. Smith passed
away on December
22, after a private battle with cancer. Although Smith’s early
career
included modeling, television and music, she was best known for her yacht
interiors. Having attended the Parsons School of Design in Manhattan,
she began
her interior design career 30 years ago, after moving to Fort
Lauderdale. Among
her many awards were three from ShowBoats
International, two for
Gallant Lady yachts. Her firm, Paola D. Smith
& Associates, will
carry on with Janet L. Schlembach, vice
president, and Smith’s daughter, Paola
Elizabeth Miller, as principals.

Grand Harbour Marina, the
subsidiary of Camper
&
Nicholsons Marina Investments,
has concluded the grant of berths for
long-term use to three 75-meter yachts at Grand Harbour Marina, Malta.
GHM has
now licensed 10 superyacht berths on a long-term basis and has
23 more that it
intends to release in phases for long-term licensing.

acquired the marina at Port Louis Grenada in an
agreement
that will have CNMI complete the marina development and
manage the operation of

United States this year with
the appointment of Michael Reardon as

Following the cooperative partnership with BBC Chartering &
Logistics, Dockwise Yacht Transport
announced several new
transport routes,
including Dubai, Southampton and Aarhus. The BBC
ships added to the mix of the

vessels continue to use
semi-submersible dock bays that allow yachts of any size
to be floated
