Two massive anchors for the 295-foot Athea.

Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard in Australia celebrated its official opening in May 2004 at a black tie event held during the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. The marina features 200 berths with 18 dedicated superyacht berths capable of holding vessels up to 50 meters.

The Unioncamere Nazionale awarded ISA the Unioncamere Prize for Innovative Young Companies, only two years after the shipyard’s partnership with the Rodriguez Group was formed. This award honors new Italian companies for innovation and value. Visit www.isayachts.com.

Adler made its 30th voyage to the Mediterranean with Dockwise Yacht Transport in May 2004 – for free. Clemens van der Werf and Jeff Last of Dockwise presented Capt. Philip Alloway with the official transport voucher and a plaque commemorating the notable event. Joining Adler on the shipment was Impulsive (ex-VW2) on its 19th transatlantic crossing aboard a Dockwise ship.

The luxury cruise liner Europa, built by Hapag Lloyd Kreuzfahrten, will undergo a refit at Blohm & Voss Repair. She will gain a new fitness room, a large play area for children and a new air-conditioning system. Storage spaces for the boat’s Zodiac dinghies, including accompanying storage rooms and disembarking cranes, are also being redesigned. Call 49 40 31 19 13 20.

MTU opened a new electronics center in Friedrichshafen, Germany. The 7,300-square meter facility employs 260 workers in a single-level production and laboratory area and a four-story office wing. Grand Bank Yachts promoted Rob Livingston to executive vice president from his former position as vice president of marketing. His responsibilities for the company include marketing, distribution, service and strategic development.

The Ferretti Group started a new program for captains called “Convergence.” The first edition took place in Riccione and hosted 52 captains who attended a series of workshops. Norberto Ferretti, chairman of the Ferretti Group, hosted the event along with the company’s managing directors.
