After analyzing the way North American and Northern European
owners use their boats, Ferretti Yachts saw an opportunity to launch a new,
purpose-driven line of fiberglass cruisers. The Altura series of aft-cabin
flybridge motor yachts emphasizes comfort and livability. The first model,
scheduled to debut in July, is the 21-meter Altura 690. Designed by Studio
Zuccon International Project in association with Ferretti Yachts Engineering, it
features a spacious aft owner’s cabin with a window on the sea. The
accommodations include a twin guest cabin and forward VIP plus crew quarters.
Innovative details abound, such as a hydraulic swim platform that lowers below
the water’s surface and a sun canopy that deploys from the bow cushions. While
speed is not the primary focus of this family-friendly yacht, the MTU-powered
690 will reach a top end of 32.5 knots.
