World’s Largest Sailing Catamaran.
Waterfront: Big Cat

Derecktor 145

Designed by Van Peteghem and Lauriot Prévost (VPLP), the 145-foot catamaran Gemini will upon her completion take the title of "world’s largest sailing cat." Under construction at Derecktor shipyard in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Gemini is being built in aluminum using Derecktor’s well-learned aluminum-working techniques.

Gemini’s three decks are topped by a 174-foot rig. The flybridge has twin helms and a sun deck with spa pool, grilling and dining areas. The yacht will house a 28-foot dive tender, which disappears into its cross deck, a hydraulic swim platform astern, a fully outfitted dive locker in her port hull transom and a bay for a 15-foot tender in her starboard transom. Her interior is the work of Michael Leach Design, winner of the 2004 ShowBoats Award for the best motor yacht interior. Delivery is expected in 2007.
