Dijkstra Announces Contract for 110-Footer.
Waterfront: Classic Cruiser

Dijkstra 110
Naval architect and designer Gerard Dijkstra & Partners of Amsterdam announced in September that it signed a contract for a 110-foot (33.5-meter) modern classic sloop. The design brief for the yacht called for a performance-oriented cruiser, suitable for charter and easy to sail for a crew of three.

She will have an aluminum hull and a moderately light displacement of approximately 95 tons. Her large, clean flush deck and spacious cockpit will provide ample space for dining and sunbathing. Her rig will be a traditional masthead with a furling genoa, removable staysail and slab-reefing main. Her winches will be hydraulic, and her deck will accommodate a full race crew. She will sleep eight guests and four crewmembers.

Dijkstra announced the new contract at the Monaco Yacht Show, where the world at large viewed Perini Navi’s spectacular The Maltese Falcon for the first time, for which Dijkstra designed a contemporary square rig.
